Care Plan Box
Care Plans are a highly valuable document and if used correctly, can provide a wealth of benefits to people with cognitive impairments, their carer’s and families.
Collaborative research efforts between the team at the University of Bradford’s Dementia Group and staff at The Royal British Legion homes revealed a need to keep people’s Care Plans in their rooms where they were accessible.
In practice, there were clearly identifiable issues raised concerning the feasibility of maintaining and consulting with a Care Plan when it was located (as they typically are) in a central office, which may be some considerable distance from the residents room.
It was concluded that storing the Care Plan in the residents room would be a positive improvement in ensuring that Care Plans are always up to date and accessible to consult.
The Bradford Dementia Group approached FIND with this innovative concept and requested that we design and manufacture something similar in appearance to our existing Memory Box design, but with the added features of being:
- Robust
- Secure
- Large enough to accommodate a Care Plan folder
- Keyless access using a digitally coded access system
- Attractive in the context of the residents room
After working closely with the Royal British Legion, the find design was manufactured and implemented throughout their homes.

"It has definitely made a difference to the residents knowing where their room is, as they all recognise themselves in the old pictures."
