Test House Research

The purpose of our research is to measure the effectiveness of the find range of dementia environment products. It is essential to monitor all effects - positive and negative - on residents, carers and visitors.

Your feedback will help immeasurably to further develop the product range, identify demand for new products and indicate to others where they can expect the most success.

  1. From the residents perspective:
To gather evidence of response to the signs/products in the context of:
    • Improved Wayfinding
    • Levels of incontinence
    • Reduction in anxiety and challenging incidents
    • Any other discernable changes that may be attributable to the signage
  2. From the Carers perspective:
    • To gather feedback from their perspective of the effectiveness of the signage
    • To assess any tangible benefits to the carers themselves
    • To be aware of any issues that may arise from this approach
    • To gather suggestions for improvements/additions to the range
    • To assess effectiveness of the memory boxes in engaging residents and friends/family
    • Any other relevant comments
  3. From the friends/family’s perspective:
    • To gather comments on their opinion of how the environment has changed
    • How and IF these changes have any relevance for them
    • Do the changes indicate the efforts being made to effectively deal with Dementia
    • Are they observing any benefit to the residents
    • Will the environmental changes cause them to visit more or less often
    • Any other relevant comments
  4. From the owner/mangers perspective:
    • Are there any tangible improvements in staff morale
    • Are there any improvements in staff retention
    • Is there a discernable increase in the level of interaction between staff and residents
    • Has there been any reduction in running costs
    • Has there been any increase in clients requesting places at the home.

Furthermore, we’d really like to receive your photographs of staff, residents and visitors interacting with each other and engaging in activities in and around the home.

this positive change...

"You see the smile on Helen's face when she goes to her room and sees her picture on the door, she knows straightaway that it's her room. I think it's a brilliant idea."
